Home

Hi all,
this time I was trying to make something different. I got this packaging from a camembert cheese for long time already from my manager, she gave me this nice cheese. Didn't want to throw the package away cause thinking of making something out of it. Which took me 5 months before I really did.
Thanks to Cards und More with their challenge theme "Pimp It!" and Just Add Ink ⌗229 with the theme "Bright, Fun & Happy"(Rainbow) with the moodboard below
I finally made something out of it...
I decided to make a nice hanger for my wall. I thought the wood package was perfect to hang in our guest toilet. So instead of white, I used black acrylic paint to cover all the wood, but before that, I covered all of them with toilet paper tissue. After that I started to put all the flowers and chipboards and other embelishments before I sprayed it with pigment colour spray.
The butterflies were stamped and embossed after I hand colored it with Dylusions Sprays.
The sentiment said "Home is where your heart is".
Thank you Cards und More and Just Add Ink for the challenge...
Hugs,
Merry

I Love You, Sweetheart...

Dear good scrappers,
this month has been a busy month. Tried to catch up with all the routine I used to have, but still I have to prepare for the upcoming party for my little girl. So this month, I just had a few post. So sorry...
Anyway, I would like to join the challenge from Color Stories Inspiration with the mood board below
I have used all the colors, as the evidence I used polka dots, arrow (on the frame), rhinestones for sparkles and ribbon. For the testimony I chose one of the question from Happiness Happens Journal Prompt no. 49. Write a poem about a person who makes you happy.

The layout was made based on the sketch from Once Upon A Sketch
instead of having it normal, I rotate the canvas to the left before I used it on my layout.

the challenge from Pixels and Paper Challenge with the moodboard below
The colors of the sheeps are quite challenging. I love green. I love yellow. I love pink and blue, but so far, never really having it all together in a page.
and Allsorts Challenge with the theme "Bright Sunshiny Colours"
So here's my layout...
It took a while to actually finish this page. It took me almost two weeks before I made my decision and finally putting all together. For the background I made a lot of works. The color of the paper was already strong red. So I did like normal with structure paste and gesso. Not to forget some stamping and rub-ons. After it dried, I realize that the paper was still to strong for the other colors to combine, so I decided to add more gesso to soften the background (to be honest, I did a few times gesso on the background since I've made a few mistakes as well, good to know you have gesso to cover your mistakes). When I'm happy with the results, I added pigment ink from LuminArte with Blue Bayou and Forest Green. Arranged the layout with all the ribbons, lace, plastic canvas and cheese cloths.
I also added Glass Microspheres and Micro Glass Beads from 13arts to add more structure in my page.
For the journal I had it in the back of the page. It said,
"Each day is a gift. Each moment is a blessing. Each person is a wonder.
And YOU are all of these: a gift, a blessing and a wonder. I love you, sweetheart."
Hope you enjoyed it!

Thank you Color Stories Inspiration, Once Upon A Sketch, Pixels and Paper Challenge and Allsorts Challenge for the challenge.
Hugs, Merry

Daughters are angels

Dear scrappers,

last month I had a beautiful hot summer in my small town. A little bit too hot though for me, but for my daughter, she had really good fun. Being back home after holiday, made her so happy. After all, home sweet home applies for everyone, doesn't it?

This month I would like to make this layout for 123 Challenge Blog mid month. I got accepted to be one of their Creative Team, yeaayy... :) (can't believe it myself as well). Thank you Alicia Redshaw for accepting me to be one of the Creative Team. It's my first to be in any Creative Team so wish me luck that I can do good (⌗finger cross⌗).

So, here's the challenge COLOUR = Baby Pink WORD = Love TECHNIQUE = Stripes

here's my layout...

The chipboards are ours (alphabets and hearts), except for the frames. It's Creative Embelishments.
I painted black and I used twinkling H2O and Lumiere Acrylic Paint to let the color blended nice with the background. I picked the sentiment
"Daughters are angels sent from above to fill our heart with unending love"
after googling what would be best to fill in the bottom left side. I finally was happy with the results.

For the background, I didn't do as much as I did with my last layout. I added some gesso and structure paste to created a "rain" like stripes. I used  Prima Marketing "Finnabair" Vintage Vanity No.4 to created the sun rays. And I rubbed Twinkling H2O to add more color for the background. Then I finished it off with some flowers and hearts.

I would like again to thank 123 Challenge Blog Owner, Alicia Redshaw, for giving the opportunity for me to join her Creative team. And don't forget to check out the blog and join the challenge....

At last, I would like to join this layout as well on a challenge that Just Add Ink have for this week with a theme "Just Add Chipboard" and Tando Creative Challenge Blog with "Lovely Layers". Thank you Just Add Ink and Tando Creative for the challenge.

Hugs,

Merry

Sparkle - Guest Designer Scrap Africa

Hello everyone,

How are you guys been doing? I'm great! Especially that I am invited to be a guest designer for August in Scrap Africa for winning a layout "Love My Baby Girl" as a Third Place last June 2014...

The challenge for this month is a sketch below...
and here's my layout for that...
This photo made a few months ago. It was a beautiful day, lots of sun and a perfect day to go to the park. My daughter went out with her grandpa, she was so happy. Her smile sparkles in every photo. She is definitely my sparkle.
For the background I used the stamp from Prima and Creative Embellishment. I embossed it and used Lumiere Acrylic Paint to create a soft yet strong colour. The butterflies are from Unity Stamps, painted with distress ink. The chipboards were ours, painted black and I rubbed it with Inka Gold - Gold.
You should definitely check out Scrap Africa for this challenge as they have really nice goodies to win!
I would like to thank Denise van Deventer for giving me a chance to be one of Guest Designer of August and don't forget to check out the challenge!
I hope you enjoy my layout. Have a nice day to all of you who stopped by.
Hugs,
Merry
