Lucky 8 - Guest Designer Scraps N Pieces

This time I would like to share with you the project I did for Scraps N Pieces for the month January with the theme "Lady Luck" and for the sketch, you can use it if you'd like

So, here's what I came up with. Here the packaging of a cheese before...

And this is after I turned it into what I wished to be....

I've up-cycled the packaging of Maxi Calvados (one of Camembert cheese). I covered all the holes around the side of the package with some toilet paper tissue. Then I started to do gesso all around it (except the backside). I drew no.8 on a thick chipboard paper and I hand-cut it.
I started to placed the embellishments(flowers, filigree, junks from my stash, cabochons, chipboards and buttons) before I started to spray everything. Once I did, started to do again another gesso, and once it dried, I sprayed with Dylusions Ink Sprays - Black Marble, Funky Fuchsia and Lemon Zest. I wanted to soften a little bit of the colors, so I did again a couple layers of gesso. Once I'm happy with the results, I used Cosmic Shimmers H2O - Purple Violet, Black Pearl and Yellow Sun. Sprinkle it again with gesso and black acrylic paint. The reason I did no.8 is because for an Indonesian with chinese background, we've been taught that 8 it's a lucky number. Short explanation, in chinese, "8" means prosper/wealth. That's why on chinese new years we tend to use "double 8" as a symbol of double joy/happiness. We chinese tend to use number 8 almost everywhere. As a telephone number, flight route number and even in a price points. So I chose this 8 lists to begin my new year with some new goals for my self.

Cherish - Sketchabilities Sketch No.127

Dear all,

how exciting to be part of Sketchabilities Design Team!!! This month is my first month to inspired you with the first sketch (no.127)......

and here's my layout for that....

I thought I wanna use these three photos anyway when I printed them. But I didn't know for what kind of layout until I've seen the sketch above. Such a perfect coincidence. These photos were taken last June in Indonesia. We were having holiday in my country for a month. She is my cutie pie. I would say she's my everything. Every second I thanked God that I have her.

So, here's the steps... I created a circle of gesso at the back of my photos and then masking it with circle form. Then I did a lot of stamping to create a stronger look around the photos using Prima-Finnabair (Vintage Vanity Collection-Threading), Prima-Finnabair (Vintage Vanity Collection No.4) and Prima-Create Memories. I thought, if I made a little bit of an accent with the color, then the 'turkish' background paper will stand out even more, so I decided to add some Cosmic Shimmer H2O - Blue Lilac a little bit here and there...

I love flowers to be honest, but always at the end of a finished layouts, I'm having trouble storing my layouts because of the thick flowers I've used. Somehow, I got inspired by Anna Rogalska, she used her flower's photo into her layout. So I did the same and I love the result. :)

Yippiee!

Hi all,

how are you all doin' this time? It's been getting colder lately here in Germany, which make me enjoy sleeping very much :) ... Well, this month is more special for us cause our little one will turn two in two weeks. Somehow last weeks, I was looking at some old pictures that I haven't used for the project life I intended to do and somehow found old pictures when my baby turned one.
Here's the layout for that...

We were about to blow the candle, but you know how it is, she didn't even know what candle was. It was a beautiful party. She's knew that she's the centre of the day that day. She smiled beautifully in every pictures. My baby turned into one that day and would I believe it or not she'll be two in a couple of weeks. Gosh how time flies... :)

I have used all the colors, my evidence are numbers(on the picture), tags and paint and for my testimony I used the word ready in my title and journal. The journal was written on the tag that I hid behind my photo.

Dear all,
I've come to finished another mix media layout. Here's my layout....

you can see more details here....

This time I really worked out a lot on the background, 

for the back layers I did a lot of stamping and distressing.

For the other layers I did a lot of misting with gesso, 

then again I applied a lot of stamping to match the background layer

 and at the end I made some masking with gesso to pop up grunge effects a little bit.

I am joining the challenge from Scrapbook Challenges with a sketch number 397,

I would like to follow the challenge from Sketchabilities. This time I've used their sketch number 116.

I would like also to join the challenge from Pixels and Paper with the picture below. 

In this photo, I really like the red color come out with the surrounding black and white. 

I have choose the color to match the sketch above.

And last, I would like as well to join the challenge from Scraps N Pieces with the theme "My Favorite"

I really love this photo from my husband, that's why I picked it to match the layout with a title Markus, (his name) my favorite photo of you....

Hey there....

this time would like to join a layout for one of the challenge from Scrap N Piece.

With a color palette and theme Sunshine like the photo above. So, here's my layout to that....

You are My Sunshine
I've used an old collection paper from My Mind's Eye called Lush. Draw the clouds myself before cutting them to pieces.... and then I added the transparency banner from American Craft to add an effects for rain....And for the sun, I stamped in a circle to create a sunrise effect...
